Fish & Wildlife Dept Holds Workshops on Conservation Resources Mapping Tool

Town Planners, Conservation Commissioners, Members of the Public Encouraged to Attend

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is holding a series of free workshops on using the recently updated online mapping tool, BioFinder. The workshops are aimed at town planners and conservation commissioners, but all members of the public are encouraged to attend.

BioFinder is a mapping resource used to find the places in Vermont most important for maintaining biodiversity, even as the climate changes. It includes maps of Vermont’s connected forests and waterways, locations of important ecological resources, and other information used for conservation and land use planning.

Windham News and Notes availability

The Windham News and Notes will not appear as soon as they are released, since people usually pay for the subscription.  There will be a archive of back issues in the Windham News and Notes section under the Community Information menu item.  The posting of new issues will most likely be 3 to 6 months delayed.  If this changes an article will appear.

WCO Meeting

Just a reminder that we have a WCO meeting tomorrow night at 7 PM at the Meeting House. A few topics for discussion are whether to have a Meet the Candidates event (to my knowledge, only the Selectboard position has more than one candidate), our own WCO elections in March, possibly having a “Dutch” luncheon, and discussion of electing/appointing a Program Director. Please let me know if you would like to have me put anything else for discussion on the agenda.

Hope to see you there. Our last meeting seems like it was months ago. Oh, it was!!! Time to catch up with each other!!!

Please feel free to join us at any meeting and bring a friend or two. We are an open group, with no membership requirements.
