Help Shape Windham’s Future

The Selectboard is considering an expansion and reorganization of the current Meeting House Committee into three working Committees. This comes as we take on broader responsibilities—including the schoolhouse and the potential acquisition of the historic talc mine property.

This reorganization will help us:

  • Plan responsibly for long-term capital improvements,
  • Ensure consistent maintenance across all public buildings and properties, and
  • Support a wide range of community activities using our town spaces.

To do this right, we need more community involvement. Even if current committee members continue, we’ll need additional volunteers to help guide this work.

Attached is a working draft of the proposed structure, goals, and roles. While the final plan may change, this document gives a sense of where we may be headed.

We’re looking for 9 to 21 engaged residents to join the new committees. If you or someone you know values local stewardship, responsible planning, and civic engagement, please consider getting involved.

This is a chance to serve your community and help ensure our public spaces remain well-maintained, wisely managed, and welcoming for all.
