Message from the Listers (Winter Hours)

We will be transitioning to our winter hours, starting in November.  Simultaneously, we will also be switching back to Wednesdays from our current Tuesdays.  As ever, if you have an issue that needs immediate attention you may contact any of us at home and make an appointment or leave a message at the Town Office.  Any zoning or 911 signage issues can also be addressed on these days.  Here are the dates when we will be in the office (hours are 9a.m.-12p.m. on all dates):

November 7th and 21st; December 5th; January 23rd, and February 20th. In March, we will return to our regular hours of 9a.m.-12p.m. every Wednesday.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Fire Company is hosting a CPR/AED session

The Fire Company is hosting a CPR/AED session for our certified firefighters’ annual certification on October 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Windham Elementary School.  The instructors will also briefly discuss Narcan and how to use it in an overdose situation.  The class is open to Windham residents for $10 for a refresher course (no certification), and $25 if you want CPR/AED certification.  Contact Mike McLaine at 875 1550 if you would like to join the class.

Windham Elementary Informational Meeting

Informational  Meeting:

October 29, 2018 at 7 pm at the Windham Elementary School

This meeting is to inform the residents of Windham of an upcoming vote about the following articles, and the current state of affairs with regard to Act 46.

Shall the voters of Windham Town School District, if the State Board of Education votes to merge the District into West River Modified Union Education District (also sometimes referred to as West River MUUSD):

  1. Authorize the School Board to sell the Windham Elementary School building, associated land, and all associated school-related personal property, including the school bus, to the Town of Windham; and
  2. Authorize the School Board to close Windham Elementary School, effective June 30, 2019, and to provide for the elementary education of the District’s students by paying tuition, in accordance with law, to any public elementary school, or to any approved independent elementary school of the students’ parents’ choice?

Selectboard Public Meeting on Review of the Windham Enhanced Energy Plan

Meeting Warning — The Selectboard will hold a public hearing Oct 1, 2018 concerning the Town of Windham Enhanced Energy Plan. This plan will meet the Vermont State requirements for providing a means to fulfill the 90% renewable by 2050 energy goals .  Comments may be emailed to the

Looking for a crew member for the Town of Windham, VT Highway Department, experienced in all summer and winter road duties and maintenance operations–grading, ditching, culvert cleaning & installation, plowing, salting, sanding, etc. CDL required. Must be a team player who works well with others and can take instruction. Operating experience with all highway equipment–grader, loader, backhoe, plow/dump trucks, etc. required.  FT, year-round, requiring a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays, as well as OT.
